AIAS Officers: What We've Been Doing This Summer!

Summer is nearly at its end, but luckily we have three more weeks to relish it! And even though it's summer, AIAS Berkeley is still active, whether it be interning, toiling away or in studio, or simply having fun. Check out what some of our officers have been doing this summer!

Sunny summer fun in Spain!
Our AIAS Berkeley President attended the Architecture 101 Summer Studio in Spain, where she not only is able to explore Spain and its wonderful treasures, but also other countries as well.

A shot taken before getting a behind the scene tour of Santiago Calatrava' Palace of Music at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. One of the head architects from the firm came and gave us an insightful tour of this highly restricted (when it's not opera season) building

This is a shot of the city of Guardamar de Segura, where the class is held. It's a small Mediterranean city with rich history and culture. The best part, our studio is only a few blocks away from the beach!

Weathering it out in Washington, DC
While spending most of her time working at the Institute of Urban & Regional Development, the External Vice President took some time off to go to DC to attend an amazing leadership conference - AIAS Grassroots (to be featured in soon-to-come post!)!

At the White House! After having dinner at the AIA Headquarters, the AIAS Board of Directors took us out on a walking tour of the monuments in DC.

With fellow AIAS West Quad Chapter leaders (from left to right: New School of Architecture, University of Arizona, and University of Colorado - Boulder, UC Berkeley) after the Council of Presidents Meeting - Grassroots is an amazing way to meet new architecture students who are just as motivated as you!

Summer studio: Arch 100A!

One of our officers is very close to home....home as in Wurster Hall! Cynthia embarked on a long and arduous studio project. Good luck with your final review and get as much sleep as you can!
